WASHINGTON DC USA -- HEALTHCARE UPDATE NEWS SERVICE -- SEPTEMBER 8, 2010: The Fourth National Medicare RAC Summit, www.RACSummit.com, to be held September 13-14, 2010 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA today announced that it has added a fourth keynote speaker on the afternoon of Day I to cover the critical topic of clinical documentation improvement (CDI). Dr. Drew Rothschild is a nationally known expert in the field of CDI and Severity-based DRG systems and will join Dr. Peter Budetti from CMS, the AHA's Don May, and NY State Medicaid Inspector General James Sheehan as keynote speakers on the opening afternoon of the main Summit.
Join colleagues and leading consultants from around the country to understand RAC current experiences with MIC audits, and hear directly from the top program integrity official at CMS what the new and broader agenda will be to uncover overpayment, fraud, and abuse. See www.RACSummit.com/ for information on substantial online discounts for public hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs).
Both the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and the Professional Healthcare Institute of America (PHIA) have approved the Summit for up to 12 CEUs. Attendees who participate online may also qualify for all 12 CEUs if they enroll in the Medicare RAC Certificate Program and pass the final exam with a score of 70% or better.
The Medicare RAC Certificate Program was designed for those who wished to take a deeper dive into the subject matter of the conference. It includes preconference readings, online training modules, participation in the RAC preconference boot camp and Summit, and completion of a 40-question post conference online examination with a score of 70% or better. Successful candidates receive a certificate of completion, as well as qualifying for 12 CEUs from AAPC and PHIA.
By arranging to license online group access to the Medicare RAC Certificate Program, at discounted rates, health care providers subject to RAC audits can implement an organization-wide online training program on preparing for, responding to, and appealing a RAC audit. An organization's training coordinator can assign and track online participation. Successful completion of the training can be evidenced by passing the post conference certificate examination. Contact Registration@HCconferences.com for details on how you can train the entire hospital RAC team online at a discount.
