WASHINGTON DC, USA -- HEALTHCARE UPDATE NEWS SERVICE™ -- DECEMBER 22, 2008: Health IT Certification, www.HealthITCertification.com, announced today that for the first time, the Certified Professional in Health Information Exchange (CPHIE) full 3 day training program will be offered to the public on Tuesday, March 3 through Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel in Washington, DC. This training curriculum prepares individuals to plan and manage the complex organizational and technical issues challenging HIEs, including Governance, Architectures, Data Stewardship, Telehealth and Home Monitoring, Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN), and Personal Health Records (PHRs).

CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL IN HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE TRAINING:

CPHIE OBJECTIVES:

The purpose of the CPHIE program offering is to promote a common understanding among all stakeholders of health information exchange (HIE); breakdown cultural, organizational, and information system silos to achieve the goals of HIE; assist the health industry plan for, select, implement, and achieve value from HIE systems; develop leadership in applying practical, pragmatic approaches to implementing HIE; and stimulate innovation in approaching uses of information technology to support improved health and healthcare delivery via HIE.

CPHIE CURRICULUM:

The following courses constitute the training program that supports CPHIE certification:

    C-I: Overview of HIT, EHR, and HIE
    C-II: Legal and regulatory aspects of HIT, EHR, and HIE
    C-III: HIT, EHR and HIE Migration Path
    C-IV: Change Management for HIT, EHR and HIE
    HIE-V: HIE Goals and Governance
    HIE-VI: HIE Architectures
    HIE-VII: Data Stewardship
    HIE-VIII: Personal Health Records
    HIE-IX: Telehealth and Home Monitoring
    HIE-X: Nationwide Health Information Network
CPHIE EXAMINATION:

The certification exam for the CPHIE contains 100 multiple choice items from all ten domains in the CPHIE common body of knowledge (C-I to C-IV and HIE-V to HIE-X). Candidates have 2 hours in which to complete the exam. Individuals who achieve a passing score of at least 70 percent on the CPHIE examination will receive CPHIE credential.


ONSITE/ONLINE PACKAGE OFFERED FOR CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL IN ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS (CPEHR) AND CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL IN HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (CPHIT) TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION EXAMS
