In Part 1 of this series, we discussed the factors contributing to health inequities in urban and rural areas, including racial prejudices, workforce issues, geography, and social determinants of health. We also examined some government and private-sector efforts to reduce health disparities.

In Part 2 of this series, we take a closer look at how safety-net providers are dealing with value-based care and how those efforts can help address inequities in the system.
